成人教育学院是湖南开放大学直属的二级学院，是学校本部成人教育的办学实体。全面负责校本部成人高等学历教育的招生、教学、教务、学生管理及其质量保障工作，并统筹师资队伍建设、校外学习点管理及相关的社会服务工作。学院充分依托开放大学体系化的办学网络体系与优质的教学资源，构建了覆盖全省、运行高效的教育服务支撑体系，致力于为广大成人学习者提供优质、便捷、灵活的终身学习机会。

学院紧密对接湖南“三高四新”战略定位和使命任务，主动响应区域经济社会发展与产业升级需求。目前开设本、专科专业39个，覆盖土木建筑、装备制造、交通运输、电子与信息、医药卫生、财经商贸、旅游、文化艺术、教育与体育、公安与司法、公共管理与服务、工学、管理学、农林牧渔、教育学等十多个专业大类，形成了“官方认证、学历过硬、专业齐全、对接需求、方式灵活、工作无忧”六大办学特色，有效满足各类成人学习者多样化、个性化的成长需求。

School of Adult Education, Hunan Open University 

The School of Adult Education is a secondary college directly under Hunan Open University and serves as the primary entity for the university's adult education programs. It is fully responsible for the enrollment, teaching, academic affairs, student management, and quality assurance of adult higher education programs at the university headquarters. Additionally, the school oversees faculty development, the management of off-campus learning centers, and related social services. Leveraging the Open University's systematic network and high-quality teaching resources, the school has established an efficient, province-wide educational service and support system, dedicated to providing adult learners with quality, convenient, and flexible lifelong learning opportunities.

The school closely aligns with Hunan's strategic positioning and mission of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions," actively responding to the needs of regional economic and social development as well as industrial upgrading. Currently, it offers 39 undergraduate and specialized programs spanning over ten major disciplines, including Civil Engineering and Architecture, Equipment Manufacturing, Transportation, Electronics and Information Technology, Medicine and Health, Finance and Commerce, Tourism, Culture and Arts, Education and Sports, Public Security and Judiciary, Public Administration and Services, Engineering, Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery, and Education. These programs embody six distinctive features: "Official Accreditation, Recognized Credentials, Comprehensive Disciplines, Market Alignment, Flexible Modes, and Career Assurance," effectively meeting the diverse and personalized growth needs of various adult learners.
